The images I paint are fantastical, coming from my own imagination. I work in series using acrylic, oil, and scratchboard. Sometimes I will incorporate heavy texture and metallic leaf into the paintings.
Immediately after earning a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University I was hired as Assistant Art Director at Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington DC. Later I started a Stained Glass and Painting studio in Evergreen, Colorado, eventually moving it to Alexandria, Virginia. The Mask Series earned me the honor of being chosen as Torpedo Factory Artist of the Year 2012, where I currently maintain a working studio open to the public.
