This painting launched the Mask Series. My intent was to create an imaginary, highly textured, feathered, dragon mask worn by a beautiful woman. Often, people would not recognize the face behind the mask as a woman, but thought it to be an aggressive male. We all wear masks in life, choosing to hide or reveal what is inside.
